America Screens
Mr. Owen Young, owner of America Screens, was born and
raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Pictured to the right, you’ll
notice the young man in front holding a pistol…this
is Owen’s father. From these rustic beginnings,
Owen grew to adulthood and became a land developer and
builder. After 35 years of building custom homes, office
buildings, apartment projects, shopping centers, condominium
developments and resorts, he retired. He and his wife,
Nancye moved to California.
Shortly after moving to California, each of his 3 adult
children followed. Desiring to operate a business again
and include his family, he searched for the right business
opportunity and found Phantom Retractable Screens. Immediately
recognizing the potential need for these products, he
researched other manufacturers and found Phantom to be
the highest quality.
Now, 9 years later, he has built the company to include
retractable screens for doors and windows, solar screens,
awnings, canopies, window blinds and aluminum exterior
shutters. As the future brings an emphasis on energy expenses
and security needs, the shutters will be in more and more
demand. They are currently seen throughout Europe, and
are relatively new to the American market.
His wife Nancye, son Bill, and daughter Beth, have worked
with the business in varying capacities over the past
9 years. His daughter Kathy is currently in the business
with him.
If you visit his office/showroom, you’ll see the
pictures of his family on the wall in his office. Also
pictured are other family member he affectionately refers
to as his “Company Staff”, “Installers”,
and “Accounts Receivable” departments. |
